Resident Evil VII Biohazard did an excellent job of modernizing the design philosophies of the original Resident Evil game. I'm not sure it all comes together as well as Capcom must have hoped it would. Village seems to be positioning itself as a sort of "greatest hits" of earlier Resident Evil games. MSRP: $60 USD for standard last-gen, $70 USD for next-genīlood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language ( < indicates platform I played for review) XBox One & Series X (via retail disc or XBox Live download). PlayStation 4 < & 5 (via retail disc or PSN download), Unclear about how to use certain inventory items and collectiblesĪ mismatch of conflicting design philosophies.Dimitrescu Castle is too small and over too quickly.Economy and level design always favors "fight" over "flight".
